PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: 29 August 2026

PatchCam is a camera effects app by Jascha Süss Multimedia GmbH (Breite Gasse 11/2, 1070 Wien, Austria — the data controller for this site and the app). It is built so that nothing you make with it leaves your phone unless you choose to send it somewhere. This policy covers the app and this website.

THE APP — CAMERA AND MICROPHONE

THE APP — WHAT IT STORES

LIVE OUTPUT

If you enable live output, the live effect is streamed over your local network to receivers you choose (for example TouchDesigner, Resolume or OBS, which connect to your phone directly). This only happens while the toggle is on, only on the network your phone is connected to, and the stream is not routed through any server of ours. Remote control over OSC works the same way: only on your local network, only while it is switched on.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO

PURCHASES

PatchCam Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any of your devices.

CRASH REPORTS AND APP STORE ANALYTICS

If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with anonymised crash reports and aggregated usage statistics through App Store Connect. This is controlled by Apple and by your device settings, not by PatchCam, and contains no content from your camera.

THIS WEBSITE — BETA SIGNUP

If you enter your email address to join the beta, it is passed to Mailchimp (Intuit Inc., USA), the service we use to send the TestFlight invitation and occasional beta news. Mailchimp acts as our processor under a data processing agreement and is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework; details are in their privacy statement.

You will receive a confirmation mail first and are only added once you click the link in it (double opt-in) — your address is used for nothing until then. Every mail carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing or writing to support@patchcam.app.

The form on this site is our own: no Mailchimp scripts, no tracking pixels and no cookies are loaded in your browser. If the connection to Mailchimp fails, the address is stored on this server (hosted in the EU) so the signup is not lost, and added to the list afterwards.

THIS WEBSITE — YOUR TESTFLIGHT INVITATION

Once you have confirmed, your address is passed to Apple Inc. so that TestFlight can send you the invitation to the beta — that invitation is the whole point of signing up, and it is the only thing your address is used for on Apple’s side. Apple handles it as a beta tester record for PatchCam under Apple’s privacy policy; we see the address, the invitation’s status, and the crash and feedback reports testers choose to send us. Legal basis is the same consent you gave at signup.

You can leave the beta at any time in the TestFlight app, and you can ask us to delete your tester record by writing to support@patchcam.app. Leaving the beta and unsubscribing from the newsletter are separate — tell us if you want both.

CHILDREN

PatchCam does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

CHANGES

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date.
